Watch sea turtles in their natural habitat. Swim inside sea caves. See the Zakynthos that stays hidden from the shore.

The southern coastline of Zakynthos tells a different story from the water. Limestone cliffs that look like walls from the beach reveal themselves to be doorways — into caves lit by turquoise light, past rock formations that rise like white towers from the sea, around quiet bays where loggerhead turtles have been returning for thousands of years.

This is your tour. Your group, your boat, your time — no strangers, no compromises.

Your private minivan picks you up directly from your accommodation — whether that is a hotel, villa, Airbnb or country house anywhere in Zakynthos. The tour runs three times daily, so you choose the slot that fits your day best.

Marathonisi — Turtle Island The first stop is the protected bay of Marathonisi, one of the most important loggerhead nesting sites in the entire Mediterranean. Watch the surface of the water. The Caretta caretta turtles come up slowly, unhurried, ancient — completely unbothered by your presence. It’s the kind of wildlife encounter that doesn’t feel like a tourist attraction, because it isn’t one.

Keri Caves The boat follows the coastline to the sea caves at Keri, where the rock opens into dramatic chambers and the water shifts from deep blue to a shade of green you won’t quite believe. You’ll want to be slow here. Take it in.

Mizithres Rocks The final stop is the Mizithres — great white rock formations jutting straight out of the sea, with hidden coves tucked between them that most people visiting Zakynthos will never find.

At two points along the way the boat stops and you swim. No crowds, no noise — just your group, clear water, warm sun, and the cliffs around you.

Three hours later you’re back. Your private minivan takes you home.

Will we definitely see turtles?

Sea turtles are wild animals — they can't be scheduled. The bay of Laganas is one of the most important loggerhead nesting sites in the Mediterranean, and turtles surface regularly to breathe, so sightings are common. Your skipper knows these waters well and will position the boat carefully when turtles are nearby. The one thing that makes the difference is silence — guests who stay quiet and still are almost always rewarded.

Is swimming mandatory?

Not at all. Swimming is optional but highly recommended — the water at the swim stops is exceptionally clear and calm. If you prefer to stay on board and take in the scenery, that is perfectly fine.

Is the boat ride suitable for people who get seasick?

The boats used for this tour are small and only depart when sea conditions are calm, so the ride is generally smooth. If you are prone to seasickness, it is worth taking precautions before departure. Let the captain know when you board — he can seat you in the most stable spot on the boat.

Can children join the tour?

Yes, children are welcome on board.

What should we bring?

Cold water is provided on board, but feel free to bring extra if you tend to drink a lot in the heat. Sun protection is a must — sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Wear your swimwear under light clothing and bring a towel. Flip flops or comfortable footwear suitable for a boat are recommended. If you haven't had time for breakfast or lunch, a light snack is a good idea.

Is snorkelling equipment provided?

No. Since Covid, the sharing of snorkelling equipment has not been permitted. Please bring your own if you'd like to snorkel at the swim stops.

Is food or water provided on board?

No food is included. Complimentary cold water is provided throughout the trip. A light snack is always a good idea.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety always comes first. If conditions prevent the tour from running, we will reschedule you on the next available slot at no extra cost, or offer a full refund if you are unable to join a future trip.

Where does the tour depart from

The boat departs from a port in the south of the island. Your private minivan will collect you directly from your accommodation and take you there and back.

How many people will be on the boat?

Your boat is exclusively for your group. The private minivan accommodates a maximum of six guests, and the boat is sized accordingly — just your group on the water, nobody else.

Does the tour include pick-up and drop-off?

Yes. The private experience includes door-to-door pick-up and drop-off directly from your accommodation — hotels, villas, Airbnbs and country houses anywhere in Zakynthos are all covered.

Which time slot should we choose?

All three slots offer the same experience. The morning slot tends to have the calmest sea and the softest light. The afternoon slot offers a completely different atmosphere as the light changes over the water. The noon slot sits comfortably in between. Choose what suits your day.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Private tours require a minimum of 48 hours notice to arrange everything properly. For last-minute requests, please contact one of our agents directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Is there an escort on the tour?

Yes. In addition to your skipper, a dedicated English-speaking escort accompanies your group throughout the trip — someone whose sole focus is making sure your experience runs smoothly and that your needs are taken care of from pick-up to drop-off.
